Event Description Speaker William L. O’Brien is in his third term in the New Hampshire House of Representatives and is a resident of Mont Vernon, NH.
His discussion will focus on the state’s budget and the choices the legislature faced on whether or not to raise taxes or to alter the budget. The solution looked at lowering their cost of doing business in the state to make New Hampshire more competitive, to remove regulations regarding businesses, refusing to increase taxes, and ensuring an environment of growth, responsiveness, stability, and support.
O'Brien has served as Chair of the NH Republican Party Platform Committee, Vice-Chair of the Granite State Taxpayers, and Co-Chair of the House Republican Alliance. He is a past member of the Mont Vernon School Board and the Mont Vernon Police Advisory Commission.
O’Brien is a member of the New Hampshire and Massachusetts Bar Associations, member of the New Hampshire Legal Rights Foundation, and a former partner at Finneran, Byrne, Drechsler & O’Brien. He was professor of law at the New England School of Law and he obtained his law degree from Suffolk University Law School and received an LLM in Intellectual Property from the University of New Hampshire School of Law. |
