Event Description Social media practitioners participate in a non-partisan panel presentation, “Click, Blog, Post, Tweet… VOTE: Social Media and the Contemporary Campaign,” which addresses the role social media will play in the upcoming campaign season. Panelists discuss the political power of social media, the strategies utilized in an effective social media campaign, and the various tools used to communicate with constituents.
Panelists include Ryan Davis, social media director at Blue State Digital, who was a member of Howard Dean's groundbreaking 2004 Presidential Campaign webteam; Julielyn Gibbons of i3 Strategies, who has led numerous strategic communications and advocacy campaigns and was the first blogger credentialed in the Michigan Capitol; and Clay Schossow, founder and partner at New Media Campaigns, who has been involved in more than 100 online campaigns and has leveraged the web to raise millions online.
NHIOP Senior Fellow Patrick Griffin will moderate the panel. Griffin is the founding partner, chairman, and CEO of Griffin York & Krause, the largest advertising, strategic communications, and integrated marketing firm in Northern New England.
