Senator Kelly Ayotte and Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction (SIGIR) Stuart Bowen will present a talk called Beyond Baghdad and Bagram: Improving Contingency Contracting and Stability Operations.

Stuart W. Bowen, Jr. was appointed Inspector General for the Coalition Provisional Authority in January 2004, and, since October 2004, he has served as the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction (SIGIR) where he functioned at the “taxpayer’s watchdog”. Over the past seven years, Mr. Bowen has made 30 trips to Iraq, managed the production of 364 audits and inspections, issued five comprehensive lessons learned reports, and provided 30 quarterly reports on Iraq reconstruction to the Congress. In March, SIGIR published its final report, entitled Learning From Iraq, which includes seven lessons from Iraq that should inform future stability and reconstruction efforts overseas.

Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Since being elected in 2010, Senator Ayotte has become a leader in the effort to reform U.S. overseas contracting and to force the federal government to improve its stewardship of tax dollars. She led a successful effort in 2011 that has helped Department of Defense contractors in Afghanistan to identify and more quickly cancel contracts that allow tax dollars to fall into the hands of America's enemies. In April, Senator Ayotte introduced bipartisan legislation, the Never Contract with the Enemy bill (S.675), that would improve the nation's acquisition policies by allowing officials across the federal government and around the world to more expeditiously terminate contracts that benefit our enemies.

On Friday, June 7 at noon (11:30 a.m. arrival), WMUR-TV's Leaders Listen will host Senator Jeanne Shaheen in the West Wing at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics & Political Library.

Leaders Listen is free and open to the public, however, seating is limited and you must REGISTER ONLINE to attend. The 60 minute broadcast will be live streamed on WMUR.com, so you will be required to hold your seat through the entirety of the production. Participants must arrive 30 minutes prior to the taping to be seated at 11:30 a.m. and please submit your question to Senator Shaheen in the space provided when registering.

The 23rd Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament is Friday, June 14 at Candia Woods Golf Links in Candia, N.H. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

The cost is $175 per player / $700 per team of four and includes greens fee, golf cart, gift, boxed lunch, dinner, and a $25 tax-deductible contribution to the Saint Anselm College Scholarship Golf Tournament Fund.

Summer advising is designed to give you a better feel for what your Saint Anselm experience will look, feel (and taste) like. You'll rotate through sessions about information technology, course registration and scheduling, classmate connections and what to expect in your first year in classrooms and residence halls.

Your parents will attend a separate program detailing all kinds of other important stuff including health services and financial aid.

At the end of the day, you'll be treated to lunch, and have a chance to talk to just about any campus office that you have a question for. You'll also get your student ID photo taken, you're an official Anselmian, after all!

Transitions is a three-day pre-orientation program that is designed to assist new multicultural and commuter students in their transition to Saint Anselm College.

This program compliments the college's New Student Orientation Program (held August 29 - September 1) by presenting students with a preview of campus life.

Through a series of presentations and activities, students will be introduced to integral support services and resources, as well as provided an opportunity to network with fellow Saint Anselm students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
